Yukon Gathering Place
First Convention Centre in Northern Canada
THE PROJECT
The Yukon Gathering Place will be the first convention centre in Northern Canada. As currently proposed, the project will see the centre constructed by the Chu Nikwan Limited Partnership (CNLP) on Kwanlin Dun First Nation (KDFN) land and operated by the CNLP for 25 years with the Yukon Convention Bureau responsible for Centre external sales and CNLP for internal sales.
SACL’s ROLE
Working under a very tight timeline (RFP drafted and to market in circa two months) SACL helped the Client to test and refine their initial project concept, develop a high-level user specification, confirm the desired event profile and then develop related event forecasts for the proposed centre. SACL is now acting as Owner’s Representative to the Yukon Government.
