THE PROJECT
Vancouver Convention Centre is a globally recognized convention centre in the heart of the Vancouver waterfront with 466,500 SF (43,340 SM) of purpose-built conference, exhibition, and meeting space including a signature 53,000 SF (4,920 SM) ballroom overlooking the harbour. A globally recognisedexample of a venue’s integration into the city’s urban fabric, seamlessly connecting with the waterfront, public spaces and surrounding amenities.
Paul Vallee participated on behalf of Tourism Vancouver with the Vancouver Convention Centre Task Force, as well as the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project Liaison Committee. He led the development of the marketing plan as part of the business case for expansion.
Tracey Short spent 20 years with PavCo, the Crown Corp. with responsibility for the VCC and was later engaged to conduct a gap analysis to determine readiness for opening, critical path management, and FF&E implementation for the expansion of the convention centre in 2008. Later Tracey was engaged to advise on the venue’s event technology strategy and to advise on Culinary Service trends.
